How to Convert a Chase Bank Statement to Excel or QuickBooks

Turn a Chase bank statement PDF into Excel, CSV, or a QuickBooks .QBO file — with balances verified. A quick guide for Chase checking, savings, and credit-card statements.

Chase gives you statements as PDFs, but your bookkeeping needs rows in a spreadsheet or an import file. Here is how to convert a Chase bank statement — checking, savings, or a Chase credit card — into Excel, CSV, or a QuickBooks .QBO file in a couple of minutes.

Get your Chase statement PDF

  1. Sign in to Chase online banking.
  2. Open the account, then go to Statements & documents.
  3. Download the monthly statement as a PDF.

Chase statements are text-based PDFs, which convert cleanly. Scanned copies work too.

Convert it

  1. Open Convert Bank Statements and drop the Chase PDF in.
  2. In a few seconds you will see every transaction — date, description, amount, and running balance.
  3. Check the Balances verified badge, then download Excel (.xlsx), CSV, or a QuickBooks .QBO file.

Chase-specific tips

  • Credit-card statements: Chase credit-card statements use a different sign convention (purchases vs. payments). The converter handles this automatically and reconciles against the printed balance.
  • Combined statements: if your Chase statement lists more than one account, the Excel export gives one worksheet per account and .QBO/OFX carry a separate statement block per account. The plain CSV is one flat list of every transaction.
  • QuickBooks import: the .QBO file imports directly into QuickBooks Online (Transactions → Upload from file) and Desktop.

Is it accurate?

Every statement is re-totaled and checked against the printed opening and closing balances. If anything doesn’t reconcile, the row is flagged so you can review it before importing.

FAQ

Does this work for Chase savings and credit cards? Yes — checking, savings, and Chase credit-card statements.
