How to Convert a Wells Fargo Statement to Excel or QuickBooks
Turn a Wells Fargo statement PDF into CSV, Excel, or a QuickBooks .QBO file — with every balance verified. Works for checking, savings, and Wells Fargo credit cards.
Wells Fargo only gives you statements as PDFs. Bookkeeping needs rows. Here is how to turn a Wells Fargo statement — checking, savings, or a Wells Fargo credit card — into CSV, Excel, or a QuickBooks .QBO file, with every balance checked before it reaches your books.
Get your Wells Fargo statement PDF
- Sign in to Wells Fargo online banking.
- Open the account, then go to Statements & Documents.
- Choose the statement period and download the PDF.
Wells Fargo statements are text-based PDFs and convert cleanly. Scans and phone photos work too.
Convert it
- Open Convert Bank Statements and drop the PDF in.
- In a few seconds every transaction appears — date, description, amount, running balance.
- Confirm the Balances verified badge, then download Excel (.xlsx), CSV, QuickBooks CSV, .QBO, or OFX.
The first 5 pages are free, no sign-up.
Wells Fargo–specific tips
- Check images. Many Wells Fargo statements append pages of check images after the transaction list. Those pages carry no transactions, so they add nothing to your export — the running balance still reconciles across the statement.
- Credit cards. Wells Fargo credit-card statements invert the sign convention (a purchase increases what you owe). This is handled automatically and reconciled against the printed balance.
- Multiple accounts. If one statement covers several accounts, the Excel export gives one worksheet per account and
.QBO/OFX carry a separate statement block per account. The plain CSV is one flat list of every transaction. - Where it imports.
.QBOgoes straight into QuickBooks Online (Transactions → Upload from file) and Desktop. Xero and Wave take OFX or CSV.
Is it accurate?
Every page is re-totaled and checked against the printed opening and closing balances:
opening balance + Σ transactions = closing balance (±$0.01)Rows that don't reconcile are flagged for review rather than quietly shipped into your ledger. That check is the whole point — a converter that silently drops one transaction is worse than no converter at all, because you won't know to look.
FAQ
Does this cover Wells Fargo savings and credit cards? Yes — checking, savings, and Wells Fargo credit-card statements.
My statement has dozens of check-image pages. Will I be charged for them? Pages are counted as they appear in the PDF. If you want to keep the count down, download the statement without check images where Wells Fargo offers that option.
Is my data safe? The PDF is never stored — it's deleted right after conversion. Results auto-delete after 7 days and are never used to train AI. See Privacy Policy and Security.
