How to Convert a Mercury Bank Statement to Excel or QuickBooks
Mercury gives you monthly statements as PDFs. Convert one to Excel, CSV, or a QuickBooks .QBO file — every balance verified — for catch-up, audits, or a loan application.
Mercury is built for startups, and it does let you export transactions as a QuickBooks or NetSuite CSV from the dashboard. But your monthly statements are PDFs — and those are what you need for an audit, a due-diligence data room, a loan or credit application, or a catch-up where the CSV export doesn't go back far enough. Here's how to turn a Mercury statement PDF into Excel, CSV, or a QuickBooks .QBO file.
Get your Mercury statement PDF
- Sign in at mercury.com and open the account.
- Go to Documents (Statements).
- Download the monthly statement PDF. For Mercury Business you can also bulk-export several months at once.
Convert it
- Open Convert Bank Statements and drop the Mercury PDF in.
- Every transaction is extracted automatically — no template setup.
- Check the balance badge: Balanced means beginning balance + deposits − withdrawals equals the printed ending balance.
- Export as Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.QBO), or OFX and import via QuickBooks' Upload from file (or Xero / Wave).
Mercury-specific tips
- When the CSV export isn't enough. Mercury's transaction export is CSV only; if your accountant wants .QBO or OFX, or you need the official statement rather than a transaction dump, converting the PDF is the clean path.
- Currency symbols in amounts — a common Mercury CSV headache in Excel — are handled, so amounts import as clean numbers.
- Mercury Treasury / multiple accounts in one statement are split per account, each reconciled on its own opening and closing balance.
- Screenshots or scanned copies work too; the balance check catches OCR misreads. See the scanned statement guide.
Is it accurate?
Every account is reconciled the way a bookkeeper would check it. If a row breaks the math, it's flagged for review instead of silently exported — so a misread digit can't sneak into your books. Details on our security page.
FAQ
Doesn't Mercury already export CSV? Yes, for transactions. Convert the statement PDF when you need .QBO/OFX, the official statement (audits, loans), or history the export doesn't cover.
Is my data safe? Your PDF is never stored and never used to train AI. See our Privacy Policy.
